Company

Joint-Stock Company (AB) “Smiltynės perkėla” has been operating as an enterprise providing passenger and vehicle carriage services since 1945. The designated purpose of today’s “Smiltynės perkėla” AB has remained the same, i.e. to ensure communication between the two shores across the Curonian Lagoon to the Curonian Spit, which is included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. The importance has not lessened; on the contrary, the number of passengers and transit traffic flows have increased considerably.
The ferry services are of vital importance for residents of the town of Neringa traveling to Klaipėda, as well as for Klaipėda residents traveling to Smiltynė either on business or for pleasure. However, the major flow is accounted for by holidaymakers who come not only from Lithuania, but also from other foreign countries (Germany, Italy, etc.) to enjoy the tranquility rendered by the nature of the Curonian Spit. Even the country's leaders choose this wonderful spot of nature for a rest. During the summer seasons, especially large flows of holidaymakers willing to see one of the most beautiful and unique European landscapes use ferry services.
The Company’s ferry fleet under constant renewal, ferry masters and crew with high qualifications ensure safe and timely carriage of passengers and vehicles across the Curonian Lagoon. Declaring honesty, justice and respect for its passengers, associates and employees, the Company pursues in its activities as high and good results as possible by improving and increasing ferry services.
